01. The Need & Human Friction

Through qualitative field interviews with 12 target participants, we observed that traditional digital tools enforce strict linear hierarchies that stifle ambient thought. Users felt burdened by premature organization.

“The core tension: Users crave structured memory retention, but abandon systems that force cataloging before synthesis.”

02. Explorations & The Critical Pivot

Initial paper prototypes leaned into calendar grids. During CS 147 usability test sessions, however, 4 out of 5 users ignored dates altogether and clustered cards by mood and sensory cues.

03. Systems, Architecture & Polish

To keep interactions under 16ms per frame, state management was decoupled into localized context stores. Typography scale and color tokens were engineered to maintain WCAG AAA contrast ratios dynamically.
